A Brief History


A public meeting was held at Redcliffe Education Centre, Henzell Street, Redcliffe on 16th February 1992 with 30 people in attendance.

The Redcliffe and District Woodcraft Society was established on 15th March 1992 and was incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act on 30th July 1992.

From 1992 until 2004 the Society operated from premises at the Redcliffe Showground.The Society is now located at 463 Oxley Avenue, Redcliffe.

The aim of the Society is to promote, foster and practice the art of woodcraft and kindred arts, and encourages members of the community to become involved in aquiring basic skills in woodworking.

The Society welcomes all new members.

As of 14th March 2024 the Society had around 114 financial members.

Vic Verrecchia owner of Vicmarc Machinery in Grice Street, Clontarf, Qld has been the Society's Patron since 1992.
